BYSL Game Schedules

New Got Soccer Website Procedures:

1) Rescheduling procedure
If there are any requests from coaches to reschedule a game for any reason, you will need to follow the usual re-scheduling procedure:  contact the opposing coach and referee assignor (with ample time), and channel these requests through the Club scheduler. Follow these Instructions.

2) Coaches contact info
Club scheduler will have the coaches contact list in case anyone wants to reach out to other coaches for rescheduling purposes.   GotSoccer is limited with the information it provides and will only list the coach/manager name (for those teams that applied through Gotsoccer)

3) Entering scores in GotSoccer
There are two ways:
a) Online:
Go to the GotSoccer Scoring Page
Enter Event number (19602) and PIN (1234).  Then game number according to Gotsoccer schedule and finally the score.

b) Phone
Call 904-758-0875
Event: 19602#
PIN: 1234#
Enter game number per GotSoccer schedule and then the score.

Satellite Beach Soccer Club Game Cancellation
and Rescheduling Procedures and Policy

Cancellation

1) The Satellite Beach Head Coach is responsible for immediately notifying at least one of the following contacts in order to cancel the referees. Cancellation requires 7 days advance for our club to avoid game rescheduling fees

Scott Ouellette, Scheduler scott@satellitebeachsoccer.org

Justin Lauer, Referee Assignor 321-480-7093 refereejustin@yahoo.com

48 hours notice is required to notify SBSC home game refs.

For very short notice cancellations (less than 48 hours), coaches should show up at the field and make payments to the referees.

2) Notify the opposing coach so they don't show up with their team to an empty field. If you are playing a SBSC team, SBSC coach contact info can be found here:
SAB Coaches List.

If you are playing a non SBSC team you will need to email the SBSC Scheduler to get contact info. GotSoccer is limited with the information it provides and will only list the coach/manager name (for those teams that applied through Gotsoccer). The SBSC scheduler will look up the opposing coach contact info and send it to you via email.

Game scheduler and referee assignor needs the following information.

  1. Team gender and team age.
  2. Your name and team code (from got soccer schedule),
  3. Name and team code of opposing team.
  4. Day and time of game.
  5. Is this a home (SAB or SEA) game or an away game at another club?

Example:

U12 Girls Rec
B5SAB9900FR1 - Jane Doe
B5IND9900FR2 - John Smith
Friday November 4, 5:30PM
Field: SBL3

Rescheduling

3) Rescheduling requires 7 days advance in order to get referees assigned. Once you have cancelled a game you can get with the opposing coach and find an agreed upon day and time to reschedule just remember to give SBSC Scheduler 7 days advanced notice to get your refs assigned. You will need to check field availability first to make sure the day and time are open. You can find a complete list of SBSC fields here: SBSC home field schedule. Our home fields are LIbraryt and Seapark. Take a look at the interval between games, 1:30 followed by 3PM for instance, this interval will change depending on the age group you are playing, older teams play 90 minutes, younger teams play less. Make sure you use the correct game start interval for your age group. Our referee assignor also appreciates scheduling games back to back to make it easier to assign referees to multiple games so IF POSSIBLE, try and shoehorn your game in either before or after an existing game on a given field.

Practice Days & Locations:

Each coach will be given one practice day and location in addition to the every other week DOC practice session listed on the practice page for a total of 2 soccer practices per week. Should a coach have a need to practice on another day, please contact another coach in your same age group and ask to switch. If you make a switch with a coach, please email us and let us know. Coaches will be provided with at least 1/2 of a practice field and the goal at one end.* Please be prepared to share a field. Many coaches have found it helpful to run 2/3 of their practice time on skills and fundamentals then scrimmage the other team that they share the field with for the final 15 or 20 minutes of practice. *U-6 & U-8 practices might include more than one team but there should be plenty of space outside of the two lined game fields as well as additional portable goals at the Seapark complex. See the diagram below and help yourself to the pinnies & cones in the Seapark storage room. Use the cones to mark off an area to practice in in the free areas outside of the lined game fields and the pinnies (lightweight colored vests) to divide up kids into colored teams for practices or to scrimmage other teams. There should be a ton of space at Seapark just be prepared to share half a game field for practices

Helpful Practice Hints:

#1 Keep it simple…The following scenario will be familiar to any coach who has trained soccer players under the age of 10: you carefully explain the practice plan that you have developed at home and the response is blank stares! This is a common problem and despite the careful preparation, coaches overestimate the players intellectual abilities or their attention span. Keep it simple! Use demonstrations along with short descriptions!

#2 Make it fun…Naturally, every coach would like his players to have fun at practice and to go home happy! At this age level, "playful" training is the best way to awaken and promote a players enthusiasm for the game. Rigid exercises intended to teach the basic elements of technique are quickly rejected by young players and should be avoided. Therefore, the second rule is simple….Make it fun!

#3 Keep things interesting…Another way to keep the practices fun is to let the kids play! In other words, play soccer! But the questions is how? At this level, letting two teams play against each other for an entire practice session would soon lead to crushing boredom. The less skilled players, in particular, will quickly turn their attention to other things. With short attention spans at this age, you must be creative and you must consider a variety of things to keep it interesting!

#4 Create opportunities to succeed…Whether a person enjoys an activity has a lot to do with whether they are successful at it! This is especially true with small children. At this age, the success of the team is irrelevant; individual success (measured by enjoyment) is what really counts. When kids describe what they experienced at soccer practice, their sentences almost always start with "I". When planning your practice sessions, keep in mind the fourth rule….give kids plenty of opportunities to succeed!
